James Martin is a co-founder of the Santa Fe Based nonprofit, Mindful Somatics Institute (MSI), which has been offering a wide array of classes, workshops and retreats in the fields of embodied mindfulness and somatics in Santa Fe and Albuquerque. James has been the principal teacher of MOSI (acronym for Mindfulness Oriented Somatic Inquiry -- pronounced moh-zee) with MSI for about five years.
MOSI (moh-zee) is a unique synthesis of body-centered mindfulness meditation and contemporary somatics which draws on various movement, dance and somatics traditions in a unique blend. Emphasizing breathing, moving and sensing as "mindfulness anchors," MOSI practice facilitates an ever deepening experience of freedom and awareness, improvisation and spontaneity. MOSI is of special benefit to dancers, artists, poets... and other creative people, for its power in liberating and inspiring creative expression of every kind.
Currently, MSI offers two weekly MOSI classes and sessions.
